I like to use shave sticks, since I find it easy to just rub the soap directly onto my face and then face lather. In addition to buying sticks (like La Toja), I've grated several harder soaps (like Haslinger Schafmich, Pre de Provence, etc) and pressed them into twist up tubes (something I found out about on this forum).
I just got a jar of Maggards Limes and Bergamot, which is a croap, and I'm wondering whether people have had success using this kind of soap as a shave stick. I'm guessing that it would be very easy to press into the stick, but I'm wondering if it is too soft to apply directly to my face without problems (like using way too much or making a huge mess or...).
