A couple of weeks ago, I bought a Kamisori on ebay and would like to hone it. Any tips on where to start? I have a Naniwa Chosera 1k and SS 3k/8k/12k. I bought the razor at a bargain, so it was recommended that I learn to hone on it. I plan to use this thread as somewhat of a honing journal for others doing something similar.
A glance through my 30x loupe shows a decent amount of chipping, but nothing visible to the naked eye. I have watched some youtube videos on the subject, but there seem to be some inconsistencies (ratios, which stone to start on, etc...).
