This is part heads up, part review.
Just before I moved into DE shaving, I purchased "Rhino Skin Armour - Ingrow Ease Aftershave Balm" on a whim in the local Tesco.
It was around 5 and I was desperate - so why not?
As mentioned in my first post, I was cursed with ingrown hairs on my neck.
In truth, when I was using it with cartridge blades, I noticed no reduction in ingrown hairs - but I did notice that it was very good at soothing the skin and quickly reducing redness.
Once I moved to DE shaving, I learned that in my case, in order to avoid ingrowns: 90% of it is down to regular shaving, good technique & using the right blades.
The last 10% seems to be divided between magic and balm!
This stuff does appear to help. I found the Proraso green soap left a dry sensation post shave, which this balm got rid of and instead left a nice moisturised sensation. It also reduces any redness very quickly & is easily absorbed.
I've now started using TOBS Jermyn Shaving Cream which is a real pleasure to use.
As everyone knows - that stuff smells great. The Rhino Balm isn't quite as nice - but it actually blends quite well. It has a subtle masculine scent and is not overpowering. Ingredients wise, Allantoin, Witch Hazel & Glycolic Acid are mentioned on the tube.
I'm still very much a beginner and I intend to try out other more expensive post shave balms/lotions soon - and will post a comparison.
I don't suffer from regular ingrown hairs anymore and if there is redness post shave, it's usually due to me sticking with a blade a bit too long/or not shaving for a couple of days . But this balm quickly soothes and eases those red marks.
In short, for the price and in my very limited experience - I think it's worth a try. :thumbup1:
