Hi, long time lurker here. Great forum
I recently scored this W&B on the bay. As the only bidder, I got it very cheap (at least before shipping and import taxes).
It's tiny! Not my smallest blade, but anyway.. It is hollow (forgot to take a profile picture) and has bone scales made like ivory, so they are insanely thin. It came in great shape, so what you see in the pictures is what I got after just some 2000 grit wet & dry and a few rounds of hand polishing.
I have tried to find info on this razor, but have been unsuccessful as I haven't found any identical razors. It looks a lot like the "Special", but lack the markings. It is marked "Wade & Butcher Sheffield England", which probably means it was made right at the end of the 19th century?
Some of the pictures make it look like the toe is honed out, but it is just the angle. The razor looked almost NOS when I got it. No discernible hone wear
Can anyone here tell me more about this razor? I think it is pretty cool!
Tell me about my Wade & Butcher
