Gents, the music world lost another giant in country music. The Southern Gentleman himself has passed away at 87. While many younger fans will not immediately know that much about him(other than 'Young Love' his biggest hit) he was an extremely influential force on the genre.
He racked up 16 consecutive number one hits and landed a total of 26 number ones between the late 1950s and 1979. He even had a star on Hollywood's walk of fame I think. He was always dapper and got his nickname from his classy, always professional treatment of fans and coworkers. A real talent. RIP sir.
