Hey all, I've been DE shaving for about 3 months now and all of your comments and suggestions has gotten me to be nick and irritation free for a couple weeks now, so thanks for that. I can get a smooth shave everywhere but my neck and chin-line. Seems no matter how many passes or at what angle I strafe I cannot get some of these hairs. I have used a cheap butteryfly razor from Walmart and a this guy, which has been a life saver for nicks and cuts. Here's the routine:
1) hot towel for about 30 seconds (probably should be more, but I can't notice a difference over 30 seconds)
2) Shave Secret shave oil lathered on
3) Bigelo shave cream with a medium lather (not super thick, but no large bubbles from too much water)
4) Shave straight down (WTG for all but neck and chin)
5) Shave straight up (this finishes off cheeks, mustache and helps to clean up neck)
6) Shave towards chin from ears for chin line and neck
If I stop there I have a pretty good shave, but there are nubbly hairs on my neck still; which takes me back to some general tips that specifically mention "The goal is to reduce the beard, not remove." That being said maybe I should stop there, but when I used a cartridge with a Barbasol aerosol cream, I used to get a clean smooth shave everywhere. By now you've spent a considerable portion of your time reading this and a appreciate that, any comments or assistance would be appreciated.
