At the beginning of February, while working, I managed to lose my balance on an icy sidewalk. I ended up not falling, but tweaked my foot. It felt like I had stepped in a campfire, followed by what felt like getting slugged in the back of the leg with a baseball bat.
Fast forward to the emergency room, then to the ambulatory clinic where I received a bright red cast from foot to knee. X rays negative for bone damage. A partial tear I've been told.
It's been close to a month and I see the specialist again on Feb.29. I'm hoping this cast comes off. I miss showering, and hate baths. I have a physically demanding job, 2 small girls and 2 dogs that are dying to go for a walk. I'm still in pain, and am afraid surgery may be the end result. I've heard horror stories of 3-6 month recoveries. Any light at the end of this tunnel?
I've been cleared for desk work but have gone home the last 2 days because of pain. Advil isn't helping and I was only given a prescription for anti-inflammatories. Everyone at work tells me just to stay home but I feel guilty I guess.
