Definitely could be technique though I have no real irritation. Short strokes kept angle small. Don't think it's prep. I shave at night after shower, use prorasso pre shave and red heavy beard shave cream.
Don't want to point fingers at vendor cause I don't know any better. I will note I only rinsed and gently wiped out of box. Did not attempt to strop as per many peoples advise.
I'm not sure its dull but it fells that way I think.
