Hit here, from Cape Town South Africa.
Started about a week or so ago with a cheap and aggressive lion brand (local) safety combined with williams shaving stick (discontinued a few years back) nicks all around, got a vintage from an antique dealer - was ok but not great. Converted from electric and cartridge.
Picked up my Muhle R106, omega silvertip badger brush, alum stone and a variety pack of blades. No more nicks or cuts - just a bamf de blade experience, which I now look forward to...thanks to the wealth of knowledge found on this site

Made my own pre shave oil (castor, olive, essential) and am using a local 'craft' good (in my limited experience) soap http://ift.tt/1JbHyye
Impressions so far - RAD is real, but I'm quite content with my R106, seems forgiving compared to the boxcutter lion razor.
Thoughts on blades - haven't used too many to be able to comment but they all seem pretty damn sharp, some might dull faster than others, cost more or less - so ymmv?
Brushes - only have the silvertip omega, works pretty well (used a cheapo synthetic no name prior) Is it normal for a few strands to drop off ? Or just a new brush thing?
