I'm still new to DE, learning and honing my skills. My big question is how long blades should last for me? I understand that there are a lot of variables - my beard, the blade, the razor, my water, etc. I'm using Astra SPANISH in a Merkur 34C, and have very rough, thick hair. I use a down pass and an up pass each shave, typically, unless I have more time. Even with 2 passes, I can barely make the blades get through a 2nd shave. My first shave is great, and the WTG of the 2nd is good. But on ATG, it starts to tug and scrape a little bit. Although reusing and saving money is nice, I'm inclined to go for 1 shave per blade for the sake of my face. Does anyone else have this problem with their beard?
Caveat - I will be trying Gillette SB and Feathers next as well.
