Hello all. Went out razor hunting again today. Found some really neat stuff. I will post some more details and photos below. These are not cleaned yet. Most of this stuff is in amazing condition.
Ever Ready 1914 "Mini Lather Catcher" in wooden display box
Really cool wooden box. The box is in super condition. The metal logo plaque is super cool. Only the little latch on the box seems a little wonky. The razor is in near mint condition. I cant wait to get this one into the ultrasonic cleaner and see how it can really shine.
1940 Gold Tech with Display Box
This one is super cool. Mostly because I love old Techs and shave with them often. The razor is in great shape. Pre-war, triangle holes. It has some plate wear, but all very typical for the age. A very serviceable and shaveable razor. But the case is in near-mint condition. The only sign of wear is the gold leaf logo on the inside fabric is a bit worn. Other than that, this case is awesome. I will replace the Waltham blade pack with a box of original spec Gillette Blues, and this case will make a perfect display piece.
1952 X-2 Super Speed Black Tip
& 1968 N-1 Black Handle Flair Tip Super Speed
I love super speeds. I grab all the 40's types I can find. And specimens like the black handle are really great shavers that I can give away to my friends as an intro to wet shaving. That black handle cost me 4 bucks, so how could I not grab it? The 52 Black Tip is in super shape, and will clean up nicely. The Black Tips are my favorite shaving Super Speeds.
Schick Rotary Magazine Type C-1
Last but not least is this neat C-1 Schick. Ive recently gotten very much into injector razors, so this one will add nicely to my collection. However, this one does not appear to be working. The blade carrier does not come all the way out. There were a bunch of old blades in there (seemingly in great condition) and they were not feeding at all. The blades dont have the punched out holes in them like all the other injectors Ive seen, so they may not be the right blades. I didnt want to force anything, so I am not going to mess with it until I get some good advice on next steps. See the last photo. That is how far the blade carriage comes out before getting stuck. I would really like to shave with this one, as its an open comb, which is super cool.
