It is amazing how a fresh shave can make you feel refreshed and clean, and is not something I typically take the time to do when camping but I'm hoping to change this. It has occurred to me that a straight blade razor could be a useful piece of kit in an emergency and provide the hygienic-euphoria so often missing when anyone spends a good deal of time in the bush.
I'm looking for product recommendations to fit some specific criteria that would work good in the woods.
First, I would like some recommendations on a good high carbon steel razor. Preferably affordable, and with wooden scales.
Second, a shaving bowl with locking lid. Preferably wooden with a tight friction fitting lid that will not come open in my pack.
Third, a retractable shaving brush? or one that offers a sheath of sorts to protect the bristles? Preferably wood, but if a retractable one exists I would suspect this would need to be plastic. Or if non exist, I know they sell retractable brushes for women's makeup purposes. Would this work?
Lastly, some recommendations on a scentless, lather.
Thanks in advanced!
