What would be the appropriate grit level to lap Washita stones to for initial try out? Do you lap to a higher or lower grit depending on how each Washita reacts? How about random slate hones that I come across. What grit level should you take it to before trying it out? I think I lapped my Washitas too fine. Totally clueless on slate hones. And finally, how about hard Arks, not black or translucent. Do you use a slightly lower grit than a black or trans?
