But seriously, I applaud the Mets for giving the guy a chance. He's not going to be a clubhouse distraction (at least after the media hype dies down), he knows how to win, and he has the most ridiculously, sometimes baffling and even annoying, positive attitude. I'd compare it to the Rangers having Russell Wilson hang around during training camp. He's still young (enough) in baseball years to have an impact at the major league level if he can refine his skills (I know it's a colossally huge if).
How can you not root for the guy?!
