So recently I took a trip to my local cigar store to poke around for some pipe tobacco. They happened to have quite a few old cans in the humidor, so I thought I'd pick one out and give it a try. It was a Cornell & Diehl "Brigadier" from 2002. I've never heard of the company, the tin just stood out to me. I just started smoking pipes this year so I didn't know what to expect. It seemed pretty dry as I was packing the bowl, I wasn't even sure it would still smoke. It was hard to light, but honestly it was pretty smooth smoking..
Is it normal for aged tobaccos to be dry like that, or should they still feel like a fresh tobacco? Is there an age limit on stuff like that?
