Question about the vane of my honing

So I have this coticle, cannot for the life of me get a decent edge with it. BUT, if i unicot (secondary bevel) i can get a decent edge.

Question: does this mean I just need to keep working with the stone and with enough time invested (I've had it for 3 years) i should be able to produce the same edge.

My logic: the unicot edge is produced in the same environment as the dilicot edge so therefore it should be possible.

Random second guessing: unless something else is happening with the uinicot edge that i cant see? Bevel angle? But this is with multiple razors with differing bevel angles.

Any thoughts, confirmations of my logic?
