Late tonight, for the first time, I shaved with a brand new Lord Super Stainless loaded into the 1961 Gillette Fat Boy; the first pass was set at 5 and everything following was at a setting of 3. Layered atop Shave Secret Pre-shave Oil, with the RazoRock Chubby Extra Silvertip Badger Shaving Brush - Olive Wood 506 Handle, was the Chiseled Face Groomatorium Ghost Town Barber (GTB) shaving soap. After building the later in the bowl and on the face, I could hardly tell that I was actually shaving and after the first pass my 2-day beard was pretty much gone except for those trouble spots. I decided to go for BBS, did 3 passes and with some final cleanup and the results did not disappoint. The alum block yielded no wincing, the Nivea Sensitive Post-Shave Balm was welcome and the Ghost Town Barber Aftershave was and continues to be a welcome treat. I will likely be up late faceturbating and, as always, the Ghost Town Barber aromatics are intoxicating.
Conclusions: For my first shave with it, the Lord Super Stainless Steel razor blade was excellent and I look forward to future shaves in different razors; however, I don't want to diminish the Chiseled Face Groomatorium contributions to the process as I have been quite impressed with their product performance and post-shave face feel, and I have sensitive skin. Chiseled Face Groomatorium soaps are phenomenal for the shave and the aftershave has a definitive command on fragrance longevity and post-shave face feel. This was a phenomenal shave.
