It has a ring to hold a medium sized puck. You many have to trim the puck slightly with a sharp knife for a good secure fit.
Or I suppose you could put a loose big puck in, build your lather, and remove the puck.
This mug is NOT microwavable to melt the soap to size. Don't ask.
