Okay fellas, after one week, I've got this double edge shaving thing down well. Watching the various how-to videos here and on YouTube has helped immensely. This morning was my best shave yet, and they only get better each time. Three passes, and it's just as close and smooth as I ever got from a cartridge razor. More comfortable too. I actually nicked myself a lot more with a cartridge razor. All this with my humble little two piece Merkur 34c. I actually enjoy shaving now, it's kinda cool. The trick is to just take your time. Short razor strokes, little to no pressure. I'm not going back to cartridges. And I already know what I want for Christmas this year - a 1940's Gillette Superspeed. The missus will get it for me.
