I recently acquired a made in Canada Eversharp Schick injector with a type E3 head (patent made in 1937, no tabs on spring) and a type G plastic handle with seam (mixed configuration). I used a Ted Pella blade (sacrificed the first loaded blade as recommended) and after the blade is loaded, I notice that the cutting edge of the blade sits about 2 mm from the edge of the blade stops instead of touching the blade stops. The blade is still firmly in place, but this results in a wider blade gap. It appears to shave nicely, although I am super careful on the pressure and angle and no weepers, although I do get some razor burn on my lower neck. Has anyone ever seen this? When I compare the E head to my type G (where the blade does touch the blade stops), the E head is larger in depth than the G head. Is it safe to shave with? Thoughts?
