For the last few months I have steadily been working on using a sample size of Stirling Cocoa Forest. I stuck it in an old RazoRock Classic container, and used a variety of brushes to lather it.
13 uses later (not including the first test lather) the last remnants have finally disappeared! Not only did I love the scent (too bad it was discontinued in the meantime) but the performance was excellent every single time. It didn't matter what brush I used or other extenuating circumstances, it always produced enough wonderful lather for a two-pass plus touch-ups shave.
I was worried that the puck would disintegrate before I could use it all, but it stayed the same consistency until there was nothing left of it.
Out of curiosity, I'm also keeping track of how many shaves I get from a Tabac puck to put to rest if it will actually provide more shaves per ounce than the Stirling or if it will disintegrate as many people have told me it does. So far I'm 4 shaves in and loving the scent and performance, but unlike every Stirling soap scent I've used I'm finding it a little much for day-to-day use.
Incidentally, I find that the performance of the two brands is near to identical (favoring Stirling slightly). I guess it's just the right combination of my house's water and my skin chemistry.
Finally Finished a Stirling Sample
