So, how do ya'll like your soap scent profiles?
As I've gathered many soaps in the den, I'm starting to discover that soaps with complex bouquets aren't seeing as frequent use as those that have a prominent scent, dominant enough that it is often mentioned in the product name.
How do I even describe these complex, many note blends? "It's nice," basically - but have no idea how to describe it further. After acquiring a certain amount of these, I pretty much mentally classify them in the same grouping and singular identities don't really stand out above each other (There are some exceptions of course). It's also a little bit of a gamble when purchasing. What you perceive the scent to be by it's description, usually is something quite different upon receiving it. (Maybe that's just me and my apparently poorly developed ability to decipher/understand how notes interact in a bouquet)
Guess I'm more of a guy that enters the den with a certain mood in mind. Feeling like lime today, or sandalwood, or orange based citrus, whatnot and I'll select from those that satisfy that craving. It's usually the simpler soaps that have that one note which is the focus of the profile, and maybe one or two supporting/complimenting notes as well. For me, these are a safer purchase too, as you pretty much know what you're getting and if you'll find it agreeable upon receipt.
How do ya'll choose your scents, both at purchase and as you enter your den?
Complex blends, or simpler/recognizable soap scents?
