Small foreword - the water where i live is hard to very hard and as far as i gathered from documenting myself this affects lather quality and makes creams the slightly better choice generally.
That said lurking around the forums i also gathered that there are brands where one type of product is generally better viewed/received than the other from the same manufacturer. Probably the most common example that comes to mind is Tabac - people say that the soap is great while the cream, not so much.
My main interest here is in D.R.Harris products - i don't know if there's a general consensus on how the creams are compared to their soaps. If there is such a consensus i'll probably go with general advice, if it's too close to call i'm far more likely to give the cream a go because of the hard water thing.
I'm not only interested in D.R.Harris products though - i'm all ears on whatever recommendation i can get when it comes to creams vs soaps made by the same company. (e.g. I've also heard T&G creams are generally better received than their soaps?)
