These are the blades I've tried, generally in order from most-to-least-liked:
Gillette 7'O'Clock Black
Dorco Prime Platinum (STP-301)
These two feel like twins in terms of sharpness, smoothness, and longevity. I can get 5-6 shaves out of them. These are my all-around favorite blades so far.
Voskhod
Very smooth blade, though sometimes it's a little rough at first, until the coating wears off the edge. Falls off pretty quickly after three shaves. Current exchange rates make these a bargain.
Feather
Hard to add anything that hasn't already been said. Extremely sharp, demands good technique. A bit pricey, but if I needed a BBS shave, this is what I'd go with.
Derby Extra
This is really a piece of sheet steel stamped to resemble a DE blade, but don't be fooled. It's marketed as a med prep blade, which means it's meant to be used after the patient's been anesthetized, and should never be used on a conscious person.
So many blades, how do you choose? and what are yours top 5 ?
