First Shave with a Gem Micromatic: Great

Courtesy of member matwho I shaved with this badboy today,

Ain't she a beauty? The all brass finish is special vintage eye candy to me. The replates some members have are also gorgeous. The mechanism on this model is tight and precise, the name Gem no exaggeration.

Am so glad this razor resides with me now, thank you Mat. It's very intuitive to use while it commands a bit of respect to manage its somewhat demanding nature.

This. It may be a matter of personal preference but the razor top cap flat against the skin idea that others favor hasn't worked for me in the past with other razors so I skipped past it here on this first shave. halr's idea did the trick.

To sum it up, I like this built like a tank little guy, history you can hold in your hand. The raw brass finish is icing on the cake. Great shaver.
