I'd have to leave this to the experts, but there seems to be minute variation that show up from time to time. Could just be made from the parts they had on hand so long as the passed for a particular design and quality control, no fuss was made in the minute details. Take the 48-49 Aristocrat, 50's Aristocrat, President, and Diplomat. Practically the same razor, just slight design changes in the curling, plating, or notched or unnotched.
