Not to sling a fly in the ointment, but I think I may have discovered a dirty secret? I bought an M2 plate to go with my M1 ATT razor off of the Bay and mostly just to see what an open comb might be like. And, All that scuttle butt(pun intended) about the closeness of the pins/blade fit went out the window. I cut myself up something awful and wondered what the heck could be going on. Then I closely examined the blade alignment of the top cap with the M2 plate and found it truly stinks. Loose and WOW, what a bunch of slop! Truly lousy! And apparently the machining? quality control? might be the problem? Has anyone else found this out? The side to side slope was truly alarming!!! The finish is very nice, but the blade alignment truly is/was terrible!!! After a couple of bloody shaves I wonder? I checked the M1 base plate and it was pretty good, but still not great! WTF is all I can say!!! I have a Rockwell 3rd edition and it is as close for blade alignment. Much easier to shave with though the finish is nowhere comparable to the ATT razor. And, I have a Feather AS-D2 razor. Which I like immensely! Difficult and very narrow angle but still truly a masterpiece! Though mild the AS-D2 is by far the tightest when it comes to blade alignment. I am really disappointed with the ATT razor!!! Too much SLOP IMHO!!!! With the expense it really is disappointing IMHO!!! And after all isn't that what counts!!! I wonder for sure? I would say beware the hype of machining and razors.
