This is the Friday razor from a 7 day set. The blade was in fair condition with an odd fine pitting over the surface.But unfortunately one of the Ivory scales was cracked at the wedge.
The thought process went from stabilizing the crack to replace the scale to " oh just do your thing and make it look good "
A good decision as having a cleaned up and polished blade would have looked out of place with dingy and cracked scales I believe.
And here too as in another post the request was to not do the paper thin scales. Ivory is quite stiff but keeping them relatively thin, putting a radius to the fuller scales still kept it looking good and graceful.
Also a slight redesign was in order as the shape of the old scales allowed the blade to slightly protrude out of the bottom of the scales. Not good. The new scales follow the same pattern but solved this problem.
