So I need a new toolbox--my old red metal Craftsman one from 20 years ago is a bit too small now. You know the kind--a couple of metal drawers, probably cost $25 back then. Not with luxurious ball-bearing drawer slides like a big really expensive mechanic's one, but sturdy and serviceable.
So into Sears I go only to find plenty of very expensive huge rolling toolboxes and the only smallish/household ones were all plastic. Plastic drawers, plastic latches, wtf, people? A couple of years in an unheated garage and I can totally see the plastic latches cracking at the hinge. My old metal one has oil spilled all over it and the bottom got rusty when I left it on the floor of my garage for a few years, but it will never break.
Oh, they had one or two metal smallish toolboxes, but only with Harley-Davidson logos on them. Not my thing, but even so they were really rickety and cheap feeling.
*sigh*
rant over
I'm lurking on Craigslist now, maybe some sweet old grandpa will be cleaning out his garage.
