You have probably noticed from the title I'm a newbie to the whole DE razor scene.
I want to get a simple post shave routine in place and need some clarifications on what it is I am actually after.
I naturally have oily skin with large pores, though it is relatively clear i.e. very rarely do I get pimples etc.
So my questions are as follows:
1) If I use an alum block, do I need a toner/ astringent? I would like to work on tightening up my pores and having a slightly smother complexion
2) Do alum blocks assist in stemming nicks and cuts and reducing razor rash?
3) Would an AS with toner/ astringent properties over rule the need for an AB?
Additionally ideas as to where to start with AS choice. I usually wear a cologne during the day and so nothing to overpowering or permanent which will clash with my cologne, but something which is going to assist with my oily skin. I have read a lot about Clubman, skin food and Dr Harris Sandalwood splash on's which people rave about... is this a good place to start?
Appreciate your insistence in advance.
Thanks boys.
