While I had my eye on it for some time, in truth I bought it because of an item I needed that required a few more items to ship. I'd read that it was mild for an open comb, so I was expecting that. Also read that the handle was thin, so was expecting that, too.
Did regular face prep, lathered with shaving soap, and tried it with the Merkur blade that came with it. It was immediately clear that the blade wouldn't be a favorite - for me it's somewhere a little better than a Dorco, but could feel it pulling tougher beard. It was indeed mild, maybe too mild for my tastes. It didn't shave as close as my solid bar razors, even when I loosened the head 1/8 turn.
Will try it a few more days, and would like to try it with my blade of choice (Wilkerson). But it might end up my "sunburn" razor, when my skin is sore and I really don't want that close of a shave.
The good things:
1. Didn't leave any "tracks," so I know my blade angle is good.
2. Now I can say I have an open comb razor.
