So far, I've tried various creams by the three Ts, Castle Forbes and Godrej. Out of these, the only one that gave me a feeling of slickness was Godrej, presumably because it has lanolin.
That's not to say the rest don't give me good shaves. They do; they're protective enough that I only rarely feel any sting while using splash after the shave (my go-to method for checking technique or lather efficacy), and they leave my face with a great post-shave feeling too. But that slippery feeling that makes your razor just glide across your face and your finger slip when you touch your face during the shave -- that I haven't been able to get with any of them. And I've experimented with varying degrees of water, so it's not that the lather is too dry.
Is it that creams, except for the ones with lanolin, are just not slick in the way soaps are? Or should I be adding so much water that the lather turns somewhat runny, something I've avoided so far?
