A small city close to me has an Antique Extravaganza twice a year. 3-400 antique dealers come from all over the country to set up shop there for the weekend. Last year I have just gotten into wet-shaving and had a blast buying everything I found. This year it seems like my RAD has died down quite a bit and even pondered not going. I am glad I did its always an adventure.
I got to the gate about an hour after the market had opened. Going down the first aisle or so dealers were telling me that I was the third person looking for razors and shaving stuff. So I decided to make my way to the far side of the market and start there. I found a few razors at one of my favorite "Local" shops on property, she almost always has something I want every time I look at her shop. This time I found a $15 fatboy, and two gold TTO's later I was looking at couple of Lather Catchers and another fellow came up asking for razor items. I struck up a conversation and found out he was one of the two guys I was trailing in the beginning. He is really not an active member here but a big collector mostly brushes. We parted ways because we were both after the same items. Then I was back at the beginning of the market and found a NOS GEM Junior that came with a Valet razor. Then I came across someone else who was looking for razors but he was in no mood for talking and darted the way I had just came from. I went back to the lady with the Lather Catcher's and talked her down to $35 for the GEM Junior Lather Catcher.
So not a bad haul today. a Fatboy year G2, two Gillette's TTO's gold, GEM juinor 1912 NOS, GEM junior Lather Catcher, an ER 1914, Valet auto strop, and a small ladies razor not pictured below.
