Hi. Fairly new at de, had ingrowns. Dont have any general skin sensitivity, Im only shaving wtg. Got some Nivea Sensitive Post Shave Balm to try. Then some Neutrogena Sensitive Post Shave Balm too. No particular reason I got these, though for awhile I was using anti-razor bump lotions too that were noticeably drying out my skin (I stopped using them, mostly these products have salacytic acid) and some alcohol based AS i still use (but no so much for work time) ie AV, Clubman etc.
I really like these Nivea and Neutrogena balms and cant decide which I prefer. Neutrogena smells a little more interesting.
Im wondering if I like these balms are there Nivea or Neutrogen or other brand products, that stand out, that id most likely really like to compliment them such as preshave lotions or shaving creams? Right now im using no preshave stuff and only shaving soap ive used is Vdh Luxury unscented which I find just ok, not very easy to lather. I also use various canned goop for speed ie Aveeno, Barbasol and generics with no problems. Mostly in terms of improvement, id like stuff that moisturizes hair and skin (to avoid getting rough, aged skin look, and to moisturize my facial hair before shaving to further avoid ingrowns) and isnt too expensive. My complaint with Aveeno goop is its a little thick and the Vdh soap seems a little thin. Im not looking to collect assorted wonderfully scented products, too many options and i work in a cubicle. Im just looking for a shaving cream or soap to go with the balms well, and maybe a pre shave balm or oil too. If theres standout products to match well with these 2 balms that would make my life easier and better. From what Ive read i might like Proraso pre shave balm and their white package shave soap but im looking for easy answers as to what a simple guy interested in sensitive or unscented moisturizing inexpensive stuff might most want to use with these 2 post shave balms. Maybe i could just go all proraso or all Nivea or all Neutrogena.
