In Houston, we have a very bad problem with Grubworms. They can weaken the St. Augustine grass, over one summer, so much, that the heat will kill the lawn. I have tried beneficial Nematodes for a few years, and they didn't work. I then just used chemicals, which killed them, but they would come back again, and the chemicals were bad for the lawn.
Two summer's ago, I read about Milky Spore. I orders some, in powder form, and applied it to my yard and garden. Very few grub worm that first summer, now, this summer, no grubs. My neighbors, all have bad problems with the grubs. My yard, over the past 11 years has had it the worst, because of a street light in front of the yard. It attracts June Bugs.
This stuff is amazing, needs only one application, and doesn't have any detrimental effects, that I can find.
