Hello!!

My lovely wife bought me an Edwin Jagger set as an anniversay present in July.

I love treating myself to a 'proper' hot towel barber shop wet shave now and then, seems my missus took some notice.

I have a Edwin Jagger DE86 razor. I felt the supplied Derby blades faded quickly, so I bought some Feathers about 10 days ago.

After a few shaves using the feather blades no matter how gentle I go, on the 2nd pass I end up with several small nicks. I dont use any pressure, I re-oil my stubble and re-lather before passing again, taking short strokes...1 to 2 inches. I think the lather maybe a bit thin, not frothing madness, would that contribute??

I'm in my mid 40s and havent cut myself shaving for God knows how long. I understand everyone has different skin, stubble, direction of hair growth and so on. Any tips to avoid getting cut?

I'm waiting on some Personna blades to arrive and try them.

Anyway hello and is it normal to to start buying various shaving creams, lotions and bowls???
It seems a whole new world has opened up to me.......
