I tried an Astra SS this morning in my Fatip and was shocked. I had horrible luck with Astras in my Merkur. I found that they wouldn't cut and would flex and scrape my face, but I had great results in my Fatip. Their blades seems much more adapted for an open comb design than a low-blade-reveal bar razor. I got a close, smooth shave with very little irritation and only a single very minor nick at the corner of my mouth.
I thought I had written off Astra, and was just using up what was left of my sampler before ordering a box of Feathers or Gillette 7 O'clocks, but now I'm torn. There are so many combinations in the world of wet shaving that I may never be able to settle on the combo I think works best. Ah, the paradox of choice has me paralyzed. :biggrin1:
