So, I've used the EJ89 and now the 1904. 89 was too mild and could not get me as close as I wanted even with a feather. I have had 2 shaves with my 1904 and get much closer with the open comb.
However, I can tell I can't shave with the 1904 every day. I have heard great things about the 34c merkur. I'm basically looking for an every day shaver with more blade exposure than my 89.
