I got one of those humongous Sweeney Todd on eBay for not much. It arrived this week and I took a look tonight.
That thing is going to be challenging.
- The blade is very long, making maneuvering it on the hone awkward
- It has a smile. It does not seem that the entire edge can touch the stone all at the same time
- It seems too thin for its width, so that angle has to be compensated somehow.
I don't think I'll be pushing the experiment very far as this seems beyond my skills.
It cost less than $10 with shipping, so I wonder if more accomplished honers would give it a try and report.
