Over the last few weeks, I've noticed some spots appearing on my Hart Steel razor. They are present on both sides of the razor. I am the original owner and the blade has always been oiled or stored in a silicone sleeve like all my other razors. I have about 10-11 other straights and none of them have this problem. I have tried cleaning the blade with metal polish but the spots remain unchanged. Under a loupe, these spots appear whitish/silver. They do not appear rusty in color.
Anyone have any idea what they might be? Is this of mechanical concern or only aesthetic? It's bugging me to death.
