Thanks to Monsieur Blaireau, I now have a beautiful shovel head. I Love my MMOC, Clog-Pruf, and Gillette NEW, but I'd been eager to try out the shovel head since hearing about how aggressive it is. I'm glad I did.
I had my first shave with it this morning and it was nothing less than spectacular. It was one of the closest shaves I've had, but, at the same time, it was extremely smooth and comfortable. At first blush, I might like it better than my MMOC (crazy talk, I know).
Not only was the shave amazing, but it is a beautiful razor. I had a fancy handle left over from a broken Gem 1912, which I like a little better than the shovel head's handle. So I replaced the handle with the Gem handle. So not only is it one classy looking razor, but it's a stellar performer. I can't wait to try it out a few more times.
