I'm open for suggestions

Hello, gents! I've been using a double-edged razor for over a year now and the only razor I own, and have used, is the Merkur HD. I'm tempted to either purchase an open comb (such as the Muhle R41) or an adjustable razor to see how they differ. The reason being is that I have some problem areas just under my jawline and chin that require far too many passes than I'd like, to get a BBS shave. I use the 3 pass method, which is sometimes more like 4 or 5 (or more, but only on those problem areas), which irritates certain areas on the neck.

I have sensitive skin and a tough beard that grows in all different directions on areas of the neck and at times, I'll go 3 to 4 days between shaves. I've tried blades from Astra, Bic, Derby, Feather, Gillette, Merkur, Persona, and others I can't think of at the moment. Astra SP blades seem to be the most comfortable. Supersharp blades, such as Feather, tend to irritate my skin more.

My prep work consists of wetting the neck with a hot towel, applying Proraso anti-irritation pre-shaving cream, and Truefitt & Hill shaving cream for sensitive skin.

I apologize for being so long-winded in my introduction, but I wanted to give a clear picture of what I'm doing. Suggestions? Thanks!
