Newbie here. Been wetshaving for circa 3 weeks and loving it.
I would really love it if there were some definitive pictures and videos focussing on the topic of blade angle. That, and the correct pressure, would appear to be the key factors in optimal technique.
Description in words of the correct technique is extremely helpful, but for a beginner like me pictures and videos are also incredibly helpful.
Like most newbies I'm sure, I have read through all the helpful wiki notes and general guidance on this forum, watched all the YouTube clips I could find, but I couldn't find anything that focuses primarily on blade angle. In some clips there is a short passing reference to the correct angle, but nothing that focuses on the topic.
Also, most pictures either show blade angle by reference to a blade on a flat surface or or on a sideburn in the commencement of a N-S stroke. But of course there is W-E stroke, visa versa, S-N etc, and while intellectually it is easy to say maintain the 30 angle on all your strokes, in practice it's a lot harder and pictures/videos with all the permutations would be so helpful.
If there is anyone that could post pictures/videos with this detail, or direct me to those that exist that I perhaps missed, I would be incredibly grateful.
Finally, not quite sure about this but I would have thought that sound and feel is an indicator of whether one is achieving optimal blade angle. If one is shaving with the perfect angle, what should it sound and feel like as one is cutting the whiskers?
Have a great weekend.
