Butterscotch Mystery Brush; From bad to worse and back

I acquired what I thought was a vintage Simpson Tulip, but I'm certain that I was mistaken now. Anyways I got it for a song and it was in need of some desperate help. Upon receiving the brush and inspecting it closely I found a crack going around the entire circumference of the brush. After cleaning it in hot soapy water and allowing it to fully dry I tried to fill the crack with some epoxy so the brush would survive the knot removal process, which it did.
