My dad used to wet shave and I had an old Trac 2 with no blade that I used to scrape cream until I got my own Atra (it's what my dad used). Then...time got away from me and I descended into the bad habit of using soap...or nothing...even shaving dry on occasion. Never really hacked myself up... And I normally shave in <2 min.
But time for a change. I have been flying at 1000000 nog and need to slow down - this sounds like one way to do that and very rewarding.
Looks like I am going to go DE and only use disposables for travel/carry-on situations. Looking at a Gillette 1974 (would love to find a U4 since I was born in latter part of that year) because I want a razor as old as I am.
So is it somewhat common to great a Zen like relaxation from a good BBS from a DE (or a SE or Straight for that matter)?
