I have bad luck with having a really though beard. Blades do need to be very sharp for slicing my whiskers. I have tested already some sharp blades, but wish to get suggestion for some more blades to try.
(Before I get the standard answer that preparation is the key, I will tell I do usually soak my whiskers around 10 minutes with warm, almost hot water before even attempting to shave)
Here is my experience with some of the blades:
- Astra SP: Sharp enough for WTG. Slightly pulling, but not painfully. I am not able to cut ATG without serious pulling, resulting in 24+ hours of pain if I touch the stubbles. The skin is not irritated though.
- Gillette 7 O'clock Yellow: Sharp enough for WTG and ATG. They do not feel particular comfortable. Gives two shaves.
- Feathers: Gives one good shave. If I try a second shave, it will result in pain.
