Hey all,
New here from NY. Been wet shaving for about a month. Didn't take all the advice at first that I read here as I was lurking. Been learning with a Dovo Shavette with the special long blades. Slowly, I have amassed many of the recommended items and gotten better results with better confidence and experience. Can safely say I had my first really good shave today. Still using the dovo, but started with zirh pre-shave oil, my new badger brush and the proraso red shave soap. Still using a cartridge in the tight areas where I have a mole or some other issue but hoping to get away from that soon. My limited advice to other beginners is take it slow, realize you will get cut up a bit in the beginning but you will heal. Biggest revelation for me was the pre-shave oil; it makes all the difference.
Anyways, hello B&B world. You have already given great advice without knowing me.
Best,
Rald
