I just added a pre-shave balm, Proraso Crema Pre Balba, 100ml jar, to my pre-shave preparation, which is a good scrub of my beard and an application of hair conditioner in the shower. Then I wet my face and massage the Proraso pre-shave balm into my beard and leave it on as I apply lather. The Proraso seems to improve my shave. But I really don't care for the menthol and eucalyptus in the product, which I didn't realize it had when I ordered it.
So, I was wondering if some of the AS balms might work just as well as a pre-shave. The AS balms I have on hand are Musgo Real, Proraso Balsamo Dopobarba, Institute Karite, RazoRock Aftershave Wax, Razorock XX, and Nivea Men Sensitive Post Shave Balm. Obviously, I have a considerable supply of AS balms, but I'm willing to go one more if it works effectively as a pre-shave balm as well.
