I've been using the Merkur HD 34c for some time now, also the EJ Kelvin (DE89 w/short handle), but I sometimes find it to too tame of an experience and surprisingly not all that different from shaving with a cartridge razor (there I said it). I suspect that eventually I will move on to shaving with a straight, but in the meantime, what do you recommend I try and why? I have my eye on the RR Wunderbar slant, but I also wonder if an open comb or adjustable razor might be a good next step.
