Hi guys, .. I just got two new hones in the mail. a Norton 4K/8K and a Weiwei 10K
It seems that everyone says that you absolutely must lap a hone flat before you use it the first time,...
But I'm looking at them and the surfaces seem flat and smooth.
Is that enough or are we talking about a level of flatness that I can't see with my eyes and hand? Do I need to flatten it the first time even if it seems super flat already? (like, they both look perfect!)
New hones seem flat.. do I need to lap them anyway b4 1st use?
